Modern Plate has absolutely exceptional service, food, and atmosphere. I love the Anthony Bourdain posters and mid century modern vibe it’s got goin’ on! 😉 The hostesses were very kind and attentive and service was timely as always. If you’re looking for a cute spot in Elmhurst to grab a meal, Modern Plate has you covered.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I don’t write reviews often, but Sophia absolutely deserves one. From the moment we walked in, it was clear this place is being led by someone special. Sophia is the kind of manager you rarely come across — young, approachable, and genuinely passionate about what she does, yet carrying herself with the quiet confidence of someone who’s been doing this for decades. We grabbed seats at the bar and were lucky enough to try her newest cocktail creation, the Greek Dirty Martini, and wow — it is a showstopper. A brilliant, creative twist on a classic that somehow feels both bold and perfectly balanced. It’s already my new go-to, and honestly reason enough to come back. But what really sets Sophia apart is how she makes every guest feel seen. She came over to us at the bar, asked about our experience, and actually listened. No script, no rush — just genuine care. You can feel her energy ripple through the entire staff too; the team is warm, attentive, and clearly inspired by her example. Sophia is the real deal. Remember her name — because she’s going places. This spot is lucky to have her, and we’ll absolutely be back.

Went in for lunch and had the power grain salad with wine. Deliciousness! Our waitress was Amanda who was very busy for a Monday. Our food was delivered very fast by the chef. It was great and the staff worked as a team to make ur experience amazing! Amanda was so fast and attentive. Definitely will return! Thanks modern plate staff!

Had breakfast my bartender was Amanda S. She greeted me right away and was very quick to get my beer/s. I wanted to try something new and she recommended the salmon toast. I added avocado and 2 sunny side up eggs. It’s was a dream! The cook brought it out. She made me coffee to go since I was in a rush. Check out was fast. Everything was perfect, host, busser, bartender even the manager checked in on me. Would highly recommended everything about this restaurant. Thanks !

Service was fantastic. Shout out Lizzy! Good was great. Very tasty. Drinks we're excellent... Well balanced. Atmosphere was what you'd expect from a restaurant of this caliber. They were also very accommodating to vegetarians. Desserts were 10/10!!!

If you’re looking for a great place in Elmhurst with amazing food, drinks, and atmosphere, I highly recommend Modern Plate. But what really makes this place stand out is Amanda Corso. Amanda is hands down the best bartender ever. She’s welcoming, friendly, remembers people, and somehow always keeps the energy fun while making everyone feel like a regular. Her drink recommendations are spot on, service is fast even when busy, and she genuinely makes the whole experience better. Great food, great atmosphere, and Amanda turns a night out into one you actually look forward to coming back for. Highly recommend stopping in and grabbing a seat at the bar! 🍻

I was looking for a decent place to eat in Elmhurst (love the Elmhurst vibe) and this place was calling my name. Great service, nice atmosphere. I started with a blood orange gin fizz which was tart and delicious. The soup of the day was roasted red pepper and it was creamy without being too thick. Very flavorful! For my main course I had the short rib grilled cheese (they were very generous with the short rib) with a side salad. The portion was quite generous; I was hoping for dessert but I just didn’t have room for it, so I capped off the meal with a nice espresso. My server was quite friendly and gave me some good suggestions for my meal.

Absolutely wonderful experience at Modern Plate! From the moment we sat down, the service and ambiance made the evening feel special. David, our waiter, was outstanding. He laughed and joked with us, made us feel so welcome, and was truly ahead of the game in anticipating what we needed before we even asked. His recommendations were excellent and made the meal even better. Jason, the manager, also came by and was so kind and attentive, even adjusting the lighting and blinds to make sure everything felt just right. Paula, the live pianist, brought such a classy and elegant vibe to the restaurant and really elevated the whole atmosphere. Overall, Modern Plate offers amazing service, a beautiful ambiance, and a team that clearly cares about creating a memorable dining experience. We will definitely be back!

WOW! I organized a season ending banquet for my daughter’s theater group at Stage 119. The extremely sharp venue was tailored to accommodate over 250 people with plenty of room to spare! Jessie, the sound engineer, seamlessly navigated all of our A/V and sound needs. Jason, Amanda, Ivona and the ENTIRE staff efficiently served all of our guests at the bar, quickly replenished the taco bar and continually cleared all cups and plates from the tables. Anything we asked for, we received immediately, with smiles and friendly personalities. We were so satisfied with the overall service that we added $500 on top of the 20% tip already included for the fabulous crew! Teddy, one of the owners of this establishment, was my main point of contact throughout this process. He was ALWAYS available to answer my questions, ease my concerns and offer solutions for all of our demands, including honoring our tighter budget! Teddy knows everything about restaurants, food, entertaining and hospitality, and he was an absolute joy to work with. From tailoring a delicious and generous menu to fit our budget to making sure we had everything we needed for the entire duration of our party, Teddy clearly knows how to run a successful business. We are so satisfied with our experience at Stage 119 that we already booked it for our event next year! The venue is incomparable, the food is delicious and Teddy and his staff are TOP NOTCH!!!
